A month went into this deal making it possible for the owners to believe that the crank and block are useable and are under standard limits. Both undergone various tests like laser alignment, calibration, magnetic particle, to name a few. The first inspection carried out by the DNV GL guy was a bit challenging since the crank was found pitting in some areas of the pins. But we were positive and optimistic that the crank will be useable. So we arranged polishing of the crank and arrange another survey and guess what the our efforts paid off and the crank was found to be useable.
The hardest part of the deal was to arrange the inspection for the materials admist this Covid-19 situation since most of the mode of transportations were not so much active all those days. But some how the second survey was arranged remotely and the class surveyor confirmed everything ok.
